Are Bed Bugs Living in the Drawers and Dressers?

Bed bugs are part of the Cimex genus of insects and are known for feeding on human blood.

They are wingless and they are very small. Usually you will not see them unless they have chosen to come into your home, but they can hide in very small spaces and move quickly, so you might not ever see them at all if they are not actively hunting for blood. These creatures are very tiny, they are as small as 1/4 of an inch and they are found in every state in the USA. They are not native to the USA, although they were brought here on slaves from Africa.

Their name comes from the fact that they feed on their human hosts while they sleep, so called bed bugs. The females lay their eggs in places where the host sleeps and the eggs will hatch in a couple weeks; the babies will then be ready to feed on humans in as little as 2 weeks; they can actually grow to the size of an apple seed. However they can live for up to a year without feeding. Their bite is extremely irritating as it can cause rashes, allergies and also allergic reactions to the skin if they have been living in your home for a while.

They are able to enter your home through a variety of ways. They might have slipped over the border with you when you were in your hotel. They might be hiding in clothing so that you leave the hotel clothes covered in dust like places, luggage, furniture, etc. They might be lurking in the walls of your home. They might be living inside your ceiling. They might be lurking in the electrical outlets. They might be living in the cracks of the floors. They might be hiding in the cracks of your toilet. They might be hiding in the seams of your bathrobes. They might be living in the cracks of the wall-to-wall carpeting. They might be living in the cracks of the furniture.

They are able to travel through clothing. They might be in the suitcases in the suitcase. They might be in the bags you had placed on your bed. They might be in your shoes when you went out, your closet, your clothes, your closet storage, the closet itself, the closet storage, and the closet floor. It should not be overlooked in the fact that they are not only living in the dresser, but they are hiding inside the closet’s and in those closet’s.

They can live on your closet floor, dresser, suitcase. The bed should not be placed on the floor, the carpet may be their entry point. They are able to fit into the dresser’s drawer as well. (It is essential to keep your clothes covered and away from bedding.) They may hide in the wall cracks, cracks of the floor, and they might be hiding inside the dresser’s drawer.
